Born in the small town of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Matthew Trujillo is a working artist who now calls New York City home. Drawing inspiration from fashion, music, architecture, and contemporary design, Trujillo’s work blends sharp, graphic facial expressions with bold visual language, resulting in striking compositions that merge modern pop art with a raw street aesthetic.
Successfully experimenting with the different light tones that bring more intensity and depth to his painting Trujillo creates mesmerizing art that sparks the imagination of the viewer and invites them to create their own story.
After building a strong following across Texas, Trujillo joined the roster of represented artists at West Chelsea Contemporary, where he had success alongside respected figures such as Tyler Shields, Blek Le Rat, Gary James McQueen, and KAWS, among others.
Now based in New York, Trujillo continues to expand his presence in the art world through self-produced exhibitions, large-scale custom murals, and collaborative passion projects that push the boundaries of his evolving practice.
